About Western Plains Aviation

Who We Are

Western Plains Aviation is a comprehensive maintenance facility focused on the needs of those with general aviation aircraft. We are in Northern Colorado, at the Greeley-Weld County Airport (KGXY) in Greeley which is just 65 miles northeast of Denver, Colorado, and less than 55 miles south of Cheyenne, Wyoming. If you are searching for a FAA-certified repair station that is knowledgeable about single and multi-engine aircraft, can sell and install Garmin, Avidyne, Stratus by Appareo, L3, Dynon and JP Instruments avionics, and can promise you quality work the Western Plains Aviation team would value the opportunity to talk with you!

We understand that you have options when choosing a maintenance facility and avionics dealer. Our aim is to provide all the services you may require all under one roof at Western Plains Aviation. Western Plains Aviation recently expanded its facility to about 9,000 sq. ft., tripling the number of customer aircraft it can hold.

We set ourselves apart by providing highly trained avionics installers, aircraft maintenance technicians, inspectors and front office personnel, whose focus is providing you the best customer experience while ensuring industry leading products, maintenance, installation, and service.

We are proud to serve the general aviation community. We appreciate the customers who entrust us with their aircraft and with keeping them safe in the skies!

Our Values

Customers: Western Plains Aviation customers come from all around the world, from Germany to Ecuador. They fly in from California and drop in from the Dakotas. We appreciate the well-seasoned pilot as well as the adventurous experimentalist. We understand the needs of businesses who are dependent on having their planes working non-stop as well as the needs of recreational pilots, who want to take advantage of nice flying weather. We are honored to serve all our customers.

Communication: We listen to our customers! We believe in keeping our customers informed throughout the time they have entrusted us with their aircraft. Our goal is to be available to answer maintenance and avionics questions and provide honest, straight-forward recommendations.

Quality: We believe that quality starts with our people. We hire only highly qualified individuals with a strong work ethic. Western Plains Aviation will only align itself with avionics and parts dealers that provide quality products. Owner and operator, Steve McIntire, who has over 35 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including pilot experience, sets his work standards high.

Reasonable Rates: Western Plains Aviation strives to ensure the most cost-effective maintenance plan for your aircraft. As pilots and aircraft owners, we understand the costs associated with aircraft ownership. We shop a variety of parts distributors and manufacturers for good quality and the best prices and pass those values on to our customers.

Safety: Our concern is that you stay safe in the skies. We believe that performing quality work and ensuring you meet all FAA and manufacturer requirements will make that possible. We care about every plane and every customer. Our philosophy is to release only aircraft that we would allow our own families to fly in.
